We began working together as apprentices. We soon learned that our values, ethics and ideas about birth were very similar. When we licensed, we decided we should continue our partnership. We still attend 90% of our births together.

Our Philosophy

Pregnancy is a normal but amazing event in your family. Your baby was created by and is a gift from God. It is our role to appreciate this amazing event and expect a normal birth. We monitor for any variations of normal or abnormal findings. We are teachers who explain healthy life habits and the process of birth. We are your friends and supporters as you labor and give birth.

We will provide labor support or be a quiet presence giving watchful attention to you and your baby. We allow the birth to proceed  naturally, seeking to intervene only when we see a departure from the normal.

It is our responsibility to be well prepared through studies of pregnancy and birth literature and keep our skills sharp. We strive to stay up to date on the latest news, but balance this information with the heart of midwifery.  Our goal is to provide the best care for you and your baby.

We do not provide care in high-risk situations, but maintain basic knowledge and skills for whenever special circumstances occur. If more skill is required, we transfer care, but will offer support and comfort measures as you desire.

Once your baby has arrived, we encourage breastfeeding as the God-given way to encourage placental delivery and ensure your health and that of your baby. We also believe this promotes bonding within your family.

We give God the glory as the Creator of this new life and give thanks to the Great Physician who opens the womb for birth.

Linda Weaver, LM CPM

I was introduced to the idea of midwifery while pregnant with our second child. I had given birth in a hospital the first time and felt very out of control. I allowed the physician to induce me, was given medication against my wishes and labored in an overflow room with only a curtain separating me from other laboring women. I knew I wanted a different experience second time around.

A friend introduced me to her midwife and I was hooked. The idea of laboring at home seemed so natural to me. I could use my own linens, dress in my own clothes, and choose who would attend me. After the birth, my daughter could see her newborn sibling right away. I could sleep in my own bed.

I decided to study midwifery when my children were in high school. It was in my heart and soul. I love serving other women and helping them achieve the birth of their dreams. I have been licensed  since 2001 and have attended over 200 births

My mother had five of her eight children in France, under the expert care of midwives. Upon her return to the United States, she not only opted for midwifery care, but a homebirth. I was twelve at the time, but shortly after my brother’s birth, I knew that this was what I wanted to do.

I began my apprenticeship in 1997. After a leave of absence while traveling abroad, I resumed my apprenticeship in Greenville, SC under the sponsorship of the midwife who had delivered my brother thirteen years before. During that time, I met Linda Weaver (also an apprentice.) We so enjoyed working together that when she licensed, and the midwife with whom I was training moved away, I began working with Linda. We have continued to work together since my licensure in November of 2004. Linda and I share the same values, ethics, and philosophies of birth. We work well as a team, and enjoy ministering to women together. We also enjoy the many benefits of having two licensed midwives as part of the birth team. Not only do we benefit, but I feel that there are many benefits to the expectant parents as well.
